Hyderabad- Current status
I have seen Hyderabad from my child hood and how it has evolved and grown from the late 60's(which are my earliest memories).
Himayatnagar was a sleepy area with wide roads and very little traffic.There were very few shops and once in a while a stay vehicle would hurtle past on the Main Road wich connects to the Liberty junction.The entire stretch from Narayanguda to Liberty probably had just 2/3 Irani cafes.
Azamabad Industrial area was the hub of indusrial activity and Charminar Cigarette factory was one of the largest Factories in Hyderabad.Subsequently many Industrial areas came into being and Hyderabad,grew as an Industrial city.
It is however sad to see it stagnate no in the last 10 years or so,with no large Industrial House,setting up base/Factories/Industries in Hyderabad.Though IT/ITes sector has set a scorching pace of development
in other sectors,Industrial activity has been on the decline.This does not augur well for Hyerabad/AP.
Once the Telangana issue is settle,maybe hings would change and i for one really want Hyderabad to grow and make us all poud Hyderabadis.
